About The Artwork

This piece has been SOLD. Based on old photos I took from 1986, this is a very recent acrylic painting I just finished on heavy rag paper, gessoed, and mounted on thin plywood. The Petite Bar was on the North End of Ft. Lauderdale, and very close to U.S. 1, if I remember correctly. I don't know if this place still exists anymore. At the moment, it's in the unframed state to allow for flexibility in cropping and framing by the client, though I'm considering framing it at a later date. It's in a 'raw' state, though the image show here is cropped and tightened up quite a bit to post on the websites. The piece of plywood mount is about 10 3/4" high and 16" wide. A cropped image could be as wide as 13" and as high as 9", but I'd suggest cropping a bit smaller than that. This is a rare night scene, and I've sold almost all of those out, save for a couple of them done over the last 25 years. If I frame this up, the price will rise. This could be matted and framed and put under glass, or after I slap a couple of coats of varnish on it, framed up as an oil or acrylic would be without the need for glass.

I've been a full-time artist off and on (mostly on) since 1985. My work seems to be about the quality of light - mostly a cinematic or noirish lighting. My early work were moody night scenes, and later on, I switched to the female figure. Now, I do a variety of subjects as they interest me and to keep from getting bored,
