About The Artwork
Inspired by the song Bali Hai from the musical South Pacific by Rogers and Hammerstein. I painted this piece just after Christmas and into the first week of January in honour of a dear friend of mine who was facing hip replacement surgery and was in considerable pain. This was to cheer her, reminding her of better days ahead. As she is a great traveller, it is within the realm of possibility that she could go to such a place. Happily today she is better than ever with her bionic hip and has already been to Europe with more such trips ahead this year. Secrety, I hope to go on this one with her.
