During selection of my graduate thesis at the Acadeny of Fine Arts and Design, Bratislava (Slovakia) I began exploring contents and forms of different styles of classical, innovative and experimental areas of contemporary arts. I was fascinated by connecting of “incompatible” abstract expression and kitsch in art. Key subjects of my “research” within graduate thesis were M. Duchamp, J. Pollock, A. Warhol, and J. Koons. My research resulted into series of paintings titled ABSTRACT KITCH. This large format series of paintings was the key to my successful completion of studies. In the year 2011 was sold to private AMoYA collection (Art Museum of Young Art) in Prague. These series of paintings opened doors to my further journey in the field of art, where I released from limiting “templates” on canvas and also my inner impression. My artistic expression became much more intuitive and unbound from common (physical) reality. My artwork is perceived as levitation through space with a huge desire to overstep even hardly visible spheres in much understandable form of colors and their energetic streams and forms overlapping our common sensory perception. I suitably named these series as THE UNIVERSE OF THE SOUL. ––– For further information please visit my web site

Mira Longfield is painter artist and innovator of new – her own style of painting. She is dedicated to painting but also overlapping her artworks onto other media. She studied at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design, Bratislava, Slovak Republic, and graduated with a MFA degree in Fine Arts – Painting, in 2005. In her early development she began exploring contents and forms of different styles of classical, innovative and experimental areas of contemporary arts. She was fascinated by connecting of “incompatible” abstract expression and kitsch in art. Key subjects of her “research” within diploma thesis were M. Duchamp, J. Pollock, A. Warhol, and J. Koons. Her innovative and brave attitude resulted into series of paintings titled ABSTRACT KITCH. This large format series of paintings was the key to her successful completion of studies. In the year 2011 was sold to private AMoYA collection (Art Museum of Young Art) in Prague. With these series of paintings the author stepped forward on a further journey in the field of art, and released from limiting “templates” on canvas and also in her impression. Her artistic expression became much intuitive and unbound from common (physical) reality. Her artwork is perceived as levitation through space with a huge desire to overstep even hardly visible spheres in much understandable form of colors and their energetic streams and forms overlapping our common sensorial perception. This series are suitably named as THE UNIVERSE OF THE SOUL. At present Mira Longfield works on series of MANDALAS, which are created by multiplication of forms from her paintings from series of THE UNIVERSE OF THE SOUL. Paintings - in this process become the source and also an instrument of birth of a new visual form – which delivers new surprising qualities and resources. In general, these mandalas are diagrams showing how chaos (an initial element of paintings is “chaos“) turns to a harmonic form. Mandala by itself is overtime symbol of oneness and balance, appearing in all periods of time, cultures and religions. Mira Longfield is nowadays coming back to her project YOU INVERSE (THE UNIVERSE). Given project was successful bachelor project at Academy of Fine Arts and Design, Bratislava (Slovakia). It was an interactive light art installation where author applied light as main communication medium with audience (light was communicating via optical fibers).
