After seven years of serving in the US Navy as a salty Sailor and sailing the seven seas, Jen CK Jacobs studied Design and Art History at Art Institute of Pittsburgh, then worked for nearly ten years as an editorial photographer. Her photography and styling work has been exhibited throughout North America and is held in private collections across the globe; her clients included Martha Stewart Living, Food & Wine, Food Network and Kinfolk Magazine among others. Her work has been featured in countless publications including TIME, Redbook, Marie Claire, Oprah Magazine, VOGUE online and Bon Appetit online. She has authored several books including, Instant Love: How to Make Magic and Memories with Polaroids, Photographing Your Children: A Handbook of Style and Instruction, Gem and Stone: Jewels of Earth, Sea and Sky and The Circadian Tarot: A Daily Companion for Divination and Illumination (all under the name, Jen Altman). Jen began painting in the expressionism style as a way to work through the stress of surviving a few tumultuous years. Jen and her husband Koli are raising their six children in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina.
