Painting, Acrylic on Other
Size: 3.2 W x 3.9 H x 3.1 D in
This piece is done in acrylic paint on linen paper. It is part of a series of Arabic calligraphy paintings which deal with the current turbulent political and religious relationships between East and West. These paintings are dark and appear negative, yet contain positive messages of peace. They respond to a tendency to fear Muslim culture, without always understanding what it is trying to say. The pink and red tones are at once cheerful and foreboding.
