About The Artwork
Sage. Painted with a specific palette of earthy tones, forrest sage and olive green. Atmospheric and energetic. Dimensions 45cm x 35cm x 1cm Shipped day after purchase. All of my paintings are pre primed with Gesso and finished with appropriate glaze/varnish in either satin matt or gloss. The paintings in my gallery are inspired by my travels across the world and in particular The East Anglian Coastline and landscape. The inspiration for these works often starts from a memory or using a photograph as a reference point. From there on my aim is to capture the essence of the landscape, highlighting the different tonal and mood effects that light has on nature. I have always been fascinated and mesmerised by the ocean and the ever changing light on the landscape depending on the season. My aim is to create artworks that capture the awe-inspiring emotion that a dramatic landscape evokes. Every painting is made with great care only using high quality materials. Gallery wrapped. A varnish top coat is applied to protect from pollutants and offer UV filtering to ensure the longevity of the art. Paintings are signed on the front with signature, date and title on the back. Your very own personalised certificate of authenticity will also be provided.

My name is Rachel Arif. I am a Landscape Artist based in London but spend my spare time in Suffolk, where I get much of my inspiration. I am drawn to the enchanting coastal region with its quaint rural villages and bleak beautiful marshes. Known as 'Constable Country', the artist himself painted many of the villages, streams and heaths that I visit today. Known as an area of outstanding natural beauty, my work is mainly concentrated here. I am particularly drawn to the coastal towns and villages of Aldeburgh, Southwold, Thorpness and Walberswick. This enchanting part of Britain with its wonderful light is what attracts artists alike. Our land and weather here in the U.K have made us who we are and are intensely emotional, powerful forces that are part of our very soul. I am always trying to find ways to capture a moment of that emotion, evoking those weather filled days.
