About The Artwork

Remote outback West Australian Salt Lake Yindarlgooda Bulong, east of Kalgoorlie. See it on Google Earth. Visited and camped there over many nights. Moonlit (moon out of view) showing vast salt lake on a winters night. Rolling dark clouds, some stars above, winter mist on lake, Dark figure with lantern unable to see two faint naked female spirit lake figures. These Salt Lakes covering huge areas have a strong spiritual effect on Aboriginals who are fearful of spirits there. On clear dark nights the Milky Way brilliantly lights lights the whole sky. This lake is also famous for its tecktites (small black glass button shaped extra terrestrial objects fallen from space). Its tecktites, melted and shaped during earths entry were used by NASA to design the curvature of the face Apollo reentry capsules. Ready to hang timber backed, carefully fine sanded and acrylic coated aluminium composite substrate Windsor and Newton Artist Oils. Archival qualities. Scene painted sides, no frame needed.

An explorer who has travelled to many exotic places such as the Amazon River, jungles of Java, Kalimantan, remote mountain regions of Luzon, Mindanao Philippines, many remote areas of Australia, Fiji and other places. The Lady and Jaguar ink work was influenced by exploring a Brazillian rain forest area where a legally protected jaguar had killed a farmworker. Jaguars consume the heart and lungs and the farm owner warned it was well known to hide in this area and periodically take his cattle. We were often looking behind in case it was stalking. Won various awards in art since childhood and was a protege of a teaching artist as a school student. Sold conventional watercolours into galleries for a short period years ago then returned to exploring before returning to the creation of larger oil paintings reflective of the many exotic places visited with his own style that in some works are influenced to a limited degree by Edvard Munch, Klimpt, Baur, Turner and some others. Only eight works are listed with Saatchi presently. In final completion stages of 8 large oil paintings up to 75 in x 51 in. They include mysterious figures in often stylised scenery with water. Some use 23-carat gold, palladium and copper in the foreground a little like Klimpt but they are not completed yet. Some can be seen in the background to Saatchi submitted photographed works (Lady and her Macaw). Works under completion include dark skies, often stormy, sometimes with figures, faces made amongst darker clouds. The first Saatchi entries were to see if there is any interest. One is of an Australian outback salt lake in moonlight with mysterious figures. The works aim to be moody, mysterious, often complex and in some moderately colourful with light and dark areas.
