About The Artwork
The angles and shadows of the buildings on the Island of Santorini, Greece inspired this piece. I wanted to capture the warmth of the sun and the cool of the umbrella and shadows in my color pallet. The houses staggered down the hillside in Santorini provide a geometric puzzle of shapes and curves. She has taken workshops from many nationally- known artists and enjoys learning and experimenting with new techniques. She looks for interesting subjects to incorporate the strong contrast of light and shadow.
