Say It With Flowers Painting

I never quite know where I get my ideas. This one is an evolution. I was thinking about ways to expand my 'Little Man' series - I've done two previously that I really enjoyed creating and one of them sold (Man On A Bird On A Wire). So, I had this image of my little man looking up at a woman in red high heels. It seemed pretty preposterous. When I mentioned the image to my son, he told me that sounded kind of lecherous, like he was looking up the woman's dress. That was not the intent. Then I thought, What if he had a bouquet of flowers behind his back?" Sometimes, when you're making an apology, you feel rather small. The title for the painting came to me after I had sketched it out. Originally, everything was going to be on white as if the whole scene were shot on seamless. Instead, I opted to put this situation in a type of room setting and decided to make the wall the same color as her shoes. Strange how we end up where we end up sometimes!
