About The Artwork
What inspired me to paint this piece was the protesting and movement of Black Lives Matter BLM. Over the years, we have had some unfortunate events when it comes to Law Enforcement. Many African Americans have lost their lives in the hands of Law Enforcement, so that is what inspired this painting. I hope viewers will understand this piece and use it as a memory of what our country endured.

As a person in recovery, I have a lot of inner pain. However, once my soul was cleansed, I utilized my strength to push through my pain. My work symbolizes that. I have been on the high end of life, meaning running my own business in embroidery and doing well. I have also been on the low end, meaning struggling to eat and being homeless with my 5 year old autistic son. You never a persons pain when they keep a constant smile. Art can produce the true inner feelings of an individual and that's what I love most about it.
