Scarlet and purple Anemones in a yellow vase. In Ancient Greece, there was also a legend about the beautiful nymph Anemone. She was so charming with her beauty and tenderness that the married and windy wind Zephyr fell head over heels in love with her. Zephyr had a blossoming wife, flora, and she was the goddess of all flowers. When flora learned about the antics of her husband, then, despite his integrity, so angry at the nymph that in a fit of jealousy and anger with his charms killed her. Zephyr was terribly worried about the death of Anemone and in a fit of despair went to the goddess of love Aphrodite with the sincere hope that she will return to him his beloved, prematurely left him. She took pity on the beloved Marshmallow and touching the cold heart of the nymph, turned it into a red flower. Since then, this flower is flaming in the fields and forest edges, comes to life every year with the arrival of spring.
