About The Artwork
During my ferry ride from Oban to the Isle of Mull, I was fortunate enough to witness a truly awe-inspiring sight - the breathtaking view of the Sound of Mull and its surroundings. The day was mostly cloudy, yet the calm waters of the sound were a sight to behold. The Highland mountains in the backdrop added to the scene's beauty, and I couldn't resist taking numerous photographs of the stunning landscape. The colours of the mountains created a perfect contrast with the serene waters of the sound, making the view even more mesmerizing. Back in my art studio, I was able to channel my inspiration and creativity from the ferry ride into a painting. I meticulously referenced the photographs I took to recreate the beauty of the scene of the Scottish coastline in this relaxing artwork. The painting includes every detail I could observe - the Highland mountains in the backdrop, the serene waters of the Sound of Mull in the foreground, and a yacht in the middle. The painting has become a beautiful reminder of the unforgettable experience, and I hope to return to the Sound of Mull in the future to witness such a magnificent view once again.
