My paintings present the viewer with opportunities to awaken to the beauty of the human experience through ordinary passing moments. Whether quick and fleeting, or slow and contemplative, these passing moments have the power to snap us out of the trance of thought and present life as it is. This painting depicts Seal Rocks at the north end of Ocean Beach, San Francisco. A coastline well known for fog and cold water, the rocky islands of Seal Rocks are a stark and dramatic presence—imovable against the fluid and powerful waves that crash against them.
