About The Artwork

"Brotherhood" series ingeniously portrays four siblings, the artist's four children, seemingly identical in age, yet harboring decades of difference. Through this temporal illusion, the series deftly unravels the subjective nature of time, reminding us that our experiences and growth can render age a mere abstraction. Time's relativity becomes a mesmerizing narrative tapestry. Brotherhood #1. the image unfolds a young girl's visage taking center stage, her countenance a canvas of curiosity and wonder. But it's her hair that defies earthly constraints, embarking on an ethereal journey that bridges the realms of the ordinary and the extraordinary. From her head of hair, a mesmerizing duality unfolds. To one side, the strands extend like a celestial tapestry, converging into the awe-inspiring Pillars of Creation. These cosmic columns of gas and dust birth stars and galaxies, an eternal dance of creation and destruction. The girl becomes a conduit for the universe's intricate design, a witness to the cosmic symphony that shapes existence itself. On the other side, her hair transforms into the resplendent wings of the mythical phoenix. The fiery plumage embodies resilience, rebirth, and transformation. As the phoenix is consumed by flames, it emerges anew, embodying the cyclical nature of life and the perpetual cycle of beginnings and endings. The girl's connection to this legendary creature speaks of her ability to rise above challenges, to undergo profound change, and to embrace the unknown with grace. The boundaries of reality yield to the limitless expanse of human imagination. A girl, her hair an intertwining of the cosmos and myth, becomes a conduit for profound cosmic forces. Her existence is a reminder that we are both witnesses and participants in the grand tapestry of existence, forever connected to the stars and stories that shape our world.

René was born in the 60's, in São Paulo, Brazil, during the Military Dictatorship. Art bloomed in his childhood, in the 70's and his formal artistic preparation and training took place during the adolescence, between 13 and 17 years of age, when he studied art history, artistic movements and various painting techniques. For years, René developed his singular style, an amalgamation of different influences passing through enshrined names from comic books, pop art, the great classics and modern masters, contemporary art, and everything else his unquiet mind can absorb. Each artwork has a dense narrative full of details. It is like little stories that are relevant for the big picture. Sometimes, the protagonist is just a spectator, who placidly observes the scene depicted or protagonist is the viewer himself, establishing a dialogue between the collective and the individual simultaneously. Aside his career as an artist, René was an executive in the Brazilian publishing market, being a publisher and editor of magazines and books Rene's art is innovative and shares his feelings about human existence, using allegories to represent people's daily lives. His vision as an artist is to suppress his own ego from his artwork in order to create a mirror where the viewer can see himself.
