Sheer Shears and Hope Rope Painting

I live in Illinois, usa. I'm currently focused on painting, using traditional methods and techniques. However, I enjoy a variety of styles and methods in the work of others and continue to look for new ways of working. I've worked with everything from wire coat hangers to plastic children's toys in previous work. I value the craftsmanship aspect of my work and try to make art that will last. I'm a novice art historian as well and enjoy referencing the styles and/or techniques of the great artists of the past when it's appropriate to the piece. I'm also an iconoclast who enjoys berating the unabashed crap produced by some contemporary artists such as Prince, Koons, Schnabel and the like.
