Showed at the The Other Art Fair
Artist featured in a collection
A new vibrant abstract watercolor called "Shimmering Sea". This painting is about light reflections on the water in front of a dark sky. You find dramatic scenes like this after heavy rain, when the sun breaks through. The colors in this painting change like the light changes in nature, due to metallic pigments used. You can see the different colors on the photo. The more it is hit by light, the more it will sparkle, even more so in artificial light! As the colors are difficult to catch and show differently on the different monitors: the main color is a dark windsor violet, the water is blue, turquoise and white colors. Shown here in different frame examples and mats to show you what it could look like. Unframed sheet of paper 22x30 cm. The painting will come unframed without mat. Comes with certificate of authenticity, signed on the back. Watercolor, metallic pigments, gouache on 300g paper, 22x30cm. (c) Gesa Reuter 2019

Germany
Based in Germany, Gesa Reuter’s artistic practice started in 1996. She has since studied the techniques of the old Dutch masters, layering selfmade gouache, egg tempera and sometimes oil to build her paintings with different layers of paint from thin to thick. Recently she has discovered the power of watercolours and ink in her work, enjoying the way the watery materials leave marks and traces to describe her inner feelings and emotions. Rather than painting an accurate visual representation of a landscape, she prefers to use the power of memory; her artworks are an expression of her feelings and emotions in the moment of experiencing the landscape." (Inside Artists, Issue 9, Summer 2017) So far, her works have been exhibited in Germany and Europe, mainly sold to private collectors in Germany, U.S.A., UK, NL, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia, to architects, small companies, private medical and psychological practices. In public collection of Amateras Foundation, Bulgaria, NHS England and Kunsthaus Stove, Germany.
