About The Artwork
Refined simplicity in amber describes Shimmy Shimmy Coconut. I painted this hard edge abstract with two shades of yellow that balance the canvas. I left a few marks of my hand in thicker paint details for a bit of added visual interest along the lower edge of the main form. Shimmy Shimmy Coconut is part of my Stasis painting series. In my “Stasis” series, I translate memory into, hard-edged paintings with dramatic curves and angles. These simple yet complex Minimalism works offer a pathway into my experiences — layers of recollection elegantly embodied through curvilinear sculptures that celebrate form through their refinement and sophisticated use of color. Each has my signature golden heart on the bottom side of the canvas, as a talisman of the most powerful force, LOVE. My most recent paintings, "Stasis & Metamorphosis Collections," are poetic. Their graceful sculptural and curvilinear forms in sophisticated color palettes seem to float in the atmosphere.
