ABOUT THE ARTWORK
I painted this picture with the intention of conveying brisk, rhythmic movement, under the colour of atmospheric lighting. The beauty is in the dancers; the audience are a blur verging on the ugly. A standard stretched canvas has been used with all the edges painted black. A hanger is screwed to the reverse to allow you to display the painting on receiving it.

I was born into a family of practicing artists with the smell of paint and pencils wafting through the house. I was trained as a carpet designer, attending art college for three years part time while being mentored by an experienced designer in the studio of the company I was apprenticed to. The basic training was that of any fine artist and I have always painted. Most of my paintings are based on sketches and photographs that I have made of people, places and things. I have sold paintings through out the UK, USA and Saudi Arabia. I have exhibited at the Birmingham Open, Harris Brush Works and The Malvern Theatres in England. I hope you like my paintings.
