Painting: Oil on Canvas.
The Sierra Nevada, famous for snow-covered heights (Sierra Nevada means "snowy ranges" in Spanish), also has many stunning valleys. Backpacking one late afternoon in the eastern Sierras, Hanson found inspiration while surrounded by jagged mountains & fleeting shadows.
A thicket of trees stand naked in the crisp fall air, huddling together for warmth against the coming winter. A quiet stream meanders through the valley, relentlessly carving through ground cover dressed in fall colors. Stoic mountains distantly maintain their silence.
This painting was created on 2" museum-depth canvas, with the painting continued around the edges of the stretched canvas. It arrives ready to hang without a frame. (Please contact the artist if you would like information on framing options for this painting.)
