Sigriswiler Rothorn Painting

I am Vaida Mikliušienė, an autodidact artist. Born in 1980 in Kėdainiai, Lithuania, I received my LLM Vilnius University, Lithuania, in 2005, and then worked for ten years as a lawyer specializing in intellectual property law, competition law, and litigation. Nonetheless I felt that I could and should make art. The idea of ​​creating art became too tempting over time. I hung up my court attire and moved with my family to live in Switzerland in 2015. Now I live in Thun where I started making and studying art. I am married and have 2 daughters. My art is a story of a never-ending evening, filled with blooms and secrets. Here, plants are blossoming around the people who a trying to sprout and unfold, and just be. Here, people are re-connecting with their roots. That is one more evening after another day lived. Time to come back home, back to oneself, and back to the dreams. My every works starts from a pure and beautiful moment from real life. Then I just need some canvas, paper, oil paints, and time. Every painting is performed in a different way, technique, and style. I explore the endless possibilities of painting. The only thing that connects all this verbiage is myself. I also paint a lot in the nature and gladly take commissions to portraiture or anything else. I love painting acts and working with models. I feel that diversified practice helps me in professional growth as well as creating very diversified body of art. Creation of beauty was always a destiny of a woman. Respectively, I feel connected to this tradition through like-sewing, embroidering, or weaving, with my brush on canvas. I wonder whether my makings are more folk handicraft or art.
