ABOUT THE ARTWORK
There are many antiquities in Ashkelon, Israel, where my wife and I have had a home for more than 30 years. I am inspired by elements of classical design and thought and have done both paintings and sculptures based on these motifs. In 2019 some of these were exhibited at the Cambridge Museum of Classical archaeology. This is an oil on a distressed handmade paper mounted on panel. Together they have exhibited widely in the U.S., England, and Israel including several museum shows and public collections. He and his wife run an art center in Stanwood, WA and have had a home in the ancient city of Ashkelon, Israel for more than 30 years.
