In the theories of various psychoanalysts, there are as many types of human manifestation as many people are there on the earth. The evolution of the human behaviour is perhaps the most subject to variations, if we consider this theory, since people are born and die every second in this lifetime. The Russian artist Dariya Afanaseva seems to find her source of inspiration, when creating one of her series of artworks, in the human manifestations … with reference to eroticism and sensitivity, in particular. Dariya Afanaseva herself states that she started painting a series of artworks, without a specific rhythmicity, since the year of 2008 to present. This series is entitled, by the artist, „4 S – Sensible, Sensitive, Sensual, Sexual”. There are four shades that overlap in the artworks of this series, 4 shades that come together in a single painting. It’s important to be mentioned the fact that these shades „treated” in artistic forms by Afaneseva are considered, with great attention, in various other areas of knowledge. Dariya is most likely trying to tell us, through her art, that these 4 S greatly influence our social life, behavior, the way chosen in life and sometimes our fates. We, as publishers, can only render what the artist tells us about her painting, but her true feelings when creating her artwork never exceed the scope of consciousness; and if it happens, these feelings remain in the intimacy of the artist. Dariya confessed that the main tendencies of her artworks gravitate around Abstract Art, Abstract Expressionism, Minimalism, Pop Art or Expressionism. “Sitting On The Stairs” is a clear picture of the 4 S that Dariya was telling us about and she manages to convince us that the style of this painting also gravitates around those concepts specific to her kind of art: Sensible, Sensitive, Sensual, Sexual.
