About The Artwork

This is a part of a series of work experimenting with the potential of hand mixing oil paint using traditional pigments. Throughout 2016 I worked using indigo exploring the trade relations it holds within, and in particular the role of trade and its impact on people inLondon where I live now. This year I am adding other pigments to explore their possibilities. Using suggestive marks I am creating spaces within small surfaced. Currently my palette has its roots in my own, I grew up near to the New Forest and am working with greens and ochres. This is part of a series and is small so suitable for a small wall or hung in a group with others from the series.
