Monsieur Poisson (Mr. Fish) has worked as assistant for American on location painters Kevin MacPherson, CW Mundy, John Burton and Jeremy Lipking. From these sessions in nature, he developed a liking for creating in the moment, at a particular time and in what could be challenging conditions. This element of risk-taking can be felt in his work : alive and living, spontaneous, no bluff. The work of Alfredo Poisson is ephemeral energy captured on canvas, in a minimalist style mixing poetry and humor. " I try to make my drawings a bit like haikus, the Japanese poems of few words. Small boxes of fragile and light paper where intense stories are concentrated." Monsieur Poisson studied classical drawing with Françoise Guillemard in Dijon, Max de Larminat in Paris, and David Weidman in New York. He studied at the EPSAA and at Parson's School of New York. He worked as Art Director for the contemporary dance companies Christian Bourigault, Pal Frenak, and for the singer Patricia Petibon. He also had the opportunity to do storyboards for Disney Channel. Monsieur Poisson has other talents : Passionate about comics, he enjoys organizing festivals mixing music, interviews, theater and performances in honor of his artist friends such as Gilbert Shelton and Jean Giraud Moebius. He also does workshops for young disabled children, as well as those with learning disabilities. Monsieur Poisson is also a director. He has done freelance work for various organizations, including the "Chaîne Parlementaire" during the Presidential elections of 2002. He made a mid-length film in New York, and created an independent film studio where he is preparing a comic television series, as well as a full-length film.
