Snow Day in New York City Painting

This painting was inspired by my mother also a painter Helga Olsson, who wrote the book Devoted To Realism and is a fantastic realism painter. I put endless detail in the painting because I was going to give it to her, but I did not. It was also inspired by my Grandmother Rose Brown, when she died and I went to the City, we had a tremendous snow storm like a foot the day of her funeral in Brooklyn. This was the first painting I entered in a contest, and I won it, I couldn't believe it! The Daytona Beach Art League, there were like a hundred other really great paintings, and mine won. I'd only started painting at all like 8 months before it.
