Description: Snow flurries on Woodhead moor in Derbyshire. The snow has settled into wind-blown patterns on the hillsides, and the ominous heavy clouds show there is more to follow... A journey from Yorkshire to visit art galleries in Manchester provided the opportunity to take reference photos whilst crossing the Pennines on icy roads in mid winter by minibus. This palette knife painting in subdued winter colours inspired by the work of Welsh painter Kyffin Williams and the sky is reminiscent of those produced by the great British painter Edward Seago.
