This piece was inspired by Etruscan Ornithomancy, Interpreting the future based on the flight and cries of birds. A practice also used in Ancient Greece. A man headed bird is the Egyptian symbol for the soul, Ba. The peacock in ancient Christian symbolism represented everlasting life. The eyes on the peacocks tail were a symbol of the all seeing eye of god. The rose is a symbol of purity and mystic in Christianity and also a symbol used frequently in Sufism. The Chinese characters are :算命(fortune telling)

I am a visual artists that specializes in painting and ceramic sculpture. I have completed exhibitions in China, Greece, Egypt and the US. I was born in the US but spent 15 years living abroad in 30 different countries. Over the years traveling I learned the culture, language and philosophy of the places I visited. In addition to my artistic abilities I am fluent in Spanish, and Mandarin. I also studied Tibetan for 2 years while living in Lhasa, and hold a Certificate in Tibetan Language from the University of Tibet. While living in Lhasa I studied the ancient art of Buddhist Thangka painting at the famous DanBa Rao Dan Thangka Institute. I am currently working from Cairo.
