Art Description

Painting: watercolor , watercolour aquarelle , illustration pen on Paper.

This piece was to capture a very light summery breezy day. Sitting under a beautiful tree and mulling over life as one gazes intently at these beautiful Southern Catalpa flowers. Life in this painting feels filled with possibility. These trees are not planted very often anymore in the U.S., when you sit under them you feel like you are under a shady bulging flower chandelier. Its my understanding that when the flowers rot and fall it becomes a decomposing mess so these native trees have fallen out of favor and during the civil war became fence posts (supposedly and other "useful things") a pity. The painting explores appreciation of natures beauty and a moment in time where there feels like very few limits.
