About The Artwork
This entire painting was created by applying acrylic paint to a flat trowel and smearing the paint onto the canvas to create interesting shapes. No brushes were used. The paint is a chalked blend of acrylic and baking soda to achieve a matte finish. For me, the draw here is the simplicity of palette and shapes. Where the lighter bottom colors overlap the dark gray on the top half of the painting, a beautiful, abstract horizon line is created. I added the burst of white circles for drama, interest and whimsey.
