Lichen weave their embroideries Mosses are knitted into The rocks that still remember the heat Of their violent birth. This piece is about spring in Iceland, when old lava fields grow adornments from abundant mosses, lichen, grasses and flowers waking up under the sun. I built this landscape over many months, from partially solidified latex paint, which I sculpted by hand into rocks populating this magical land. Many layers of acrylic washes and pastel brushing form the current landscape - some silver, bronze and gold metallic accents add soft glow and restrained sparkle to the composition. Mysteriously delicious. Amazingly alive. Sides painted black. Ready to hang.

Poetry, music, rebellion, femininity, humour and wonder of my world reveal themselves in images, both soft and hard, always mysterious, always in layers of meaning. My stories emerge like flowers opening up their petals, one at a time, as I try to bring to light all the facets of a certain moment in time, of a beautiful memory. But in the end, or in the beginning, it's all about love. I explore painting as a connection to our human vulnerability, of which love is its ultimate manifestation.
