"Stalin route" (flight USSR-USA) Painting

On 20 July 1936 was made a flight (with a crew of VP Chkalov, G. F. Baidukov and A. V. Belyakov) on the route Moscow — North pole — America. 18 Jun 1937 in 4 hours 5 minutes on the Shchelkovo airfield was taken for the launch of this unprecedented flight. On June 20, at 19: 30 am Moscow time, ANT-25 landed at the airport Barake near Vancouver (USA). In 63 hours 16 minutes it covered the distance in 11 of 430 km After only three weeks, the crew of M. M. Gromov, A. B. Yumashev and S. A. Danilin made another flight to America via the North pole. Pilots set a new world record range. The plane was in the air 62 h 17 min, breaking the distance of 11500 km.
