ABOUT THE ARTWORK
A woman sits atop a giant boulder that is floating above ocean waves. Apparently, she used the floating stones that lead to the boulder to get there. The idea for this painting came to me while listening to the Rolling Stones, "Steppingstone" song. Beyond that, there's a bit of Magritte and an ode to Roger Dean, combined with my own vision of how this should be. I had great fun painting the clouds. The waves, not so much as they proved to be quite challenging. In real life, this is a stunning image due to the large size of the canvas. One can only imagine the view the woman is enjoying as she looks out from her extremely unique vantage point.
