Still life creates the impression of monumentality due to the fact that the objects depicted on it are slightly larger than in nature. There is nothing superfluous in the picture, only a vase with apples and an empty faceted glass. During this period, the artist was fascinated by the work of Pablo Picasso. Therefore, he deliberately divides the forms into additional planes, shifts parts of objects, distorts them, thereby obtaining a complex drawing with a brush. Emphasizing and introducing white on the leg of the vase and the glass perfectly conveys the material - glass. Despite this simplification and stylization, light, shadow is conveyed, the center of the composition is highlighted. The texture of the strokes in the background was made with squeezed whitewash straight from the tube. This makes the picture even richer and more complex. Perfect for the interior of a dining room, cafeteria, restaurant... The advantage of this painting is that it has stood the test of time. She is about 40 years old, so the painting shows slight damage to the paint layer. The work is written with artistic paints of the Soviet era. The canvas and the stretcher were made by the artist himself.
