About The Artwork

Stories of the old is Inspired by the beautiful Adalaj stepwell in Gujarat, India. It was built in 1499 to hold water, provide refuge to travelers and local people, and offer spiritual sustenance. The fifth floor is especially stunning. Then from here you can see the deep turquoise waters of the well itself. It seems to glow with inner light, surrounded by astonishing beauty captured forever in stone. The stepwell’s immense beauty is not the only thing spectacular about it. The tale of its creation is full of love and war, devotion and betrayal. Moreover, the architecture consists of the mix of gujarati, marwari and mughal design. The entire structure is covered with carvings, sculptures, and ornamentation. It combines Indo-Islamic architectural elements and designs. Islamic floral patterns blend seamlessly with Hindu and Jain symbolism. It is carved with scenes of everyday life, such as women churning butter. These pieces of beautiful monuments standing upright in the corners of the world, screaming to be heard, admired and explored. Stories of the old tells about our connection with the ancient and the glories of the past. An approach to acrylic artwork given an overalll illusion of details to let us connect with our royal past. It is so astonoshing that our ancestors could actually carve these details with utmost accuracy. They were indeed skilled than we can ever be. India is full of such majestic beauty in all its places with varies culture and architecture. It surely rejuvenates ones mind to dwelve into the stories that were long lost and forgotten.
