About The Artwork

This painting is inspired by Bryce Canyon National Park, Utah. The setting is along Queens Garden Trail; a hail storm is approaching. With this painting, I wanted to capture the essence of Bryce, where hoodoos (those tall, thin spires of rock) figure prominently. The trail leads you through the canyon, and the rock formation in the foreground ties in with those in the background. As the orange and rock formations of Bryce are so unusual, I wanted to include trees and shrubs that might be more familiar to the viewer.
