Art Description

Painting: Resin and Acrylic on Canvas.

This is a serie of artworks completed with resin and acrylic, which represent the rapidly expanding impact of stress affection in modern life over our health. The serie main idea is to highlight the issue of mass spread of certain diseases over the last 20 years, which are not basically, but mainly caused by stress in life. The canvases depict 10 of the most common diseases from which big nations suffer.
I am aiming not to strike fear from illness, but to draw attention towards one of the most serious problems of modern society – mental instability. Being unable to deal with everyday life and situations we become more fragile and exposed to psychological disorders. We do live in a digital world, which continuously robs our chance to look inside us. The more unstable and unsatisfied we get, the more sick we become. Stress on its own is not a disease, but it’s the trigger to all other somatic infractions. Stress has already crossed the line between psychological and somatic.
