Original acrylic artwork on canvas, 100 x 100 cm

In this painting, Summer Days, I have taken the ben day dot normally used in comic books and newspapers and I’ve moved it to a more relevant, organic place. Almost like we’ve zoomed into the pixels of a larger object. Broad background strokes present movement and energy, the buzz of life. The dots create a stage for the organic forms of the Monstera houseplant to bring us closer to ourselves - they are both illustrative and abstract - floating by as they would if we’d caught a glimpse of them.

This is a bright, light painting and is a direct response to my urban city life.

Rosha Nutt’s passion for flowers and colour collides in her new collection ‘Flowerbeds’. Her colourful, abstracted landscapes are built up through layers of acrylic and pastel and are as dynamic as they are fantastical. Taking inspiration from the British flowerbeds she has visited at places like Kew Gardens, Houghton Hall and Sandringham, she says “I want to capture the memory of a place and the feeling of its joyfulness. We rarely see everything in sharp focus like a photograph, seeing is more sensorial than that and I want to bring this sensory memory to life on the canvas.” Rosha studied Fine Art at Central Saint Martins and Middlesex University and went on to work as an art director making tv and print adverts. She worked on campaigns with Kate Moss and photographer Rankin. In recent years Rosha’s professional practise has centred on printmaking with a number of sold out editions and exhibitions. Rosha lives in north London. For more information visit her website /
