ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Summer Memories, oil and acrylic on canvas, 140 x 100 x 2 cm on two canvas panels each measuring 70 x 100 x 2 cm (Diptych). Summer Memories, blue skies streaked with clouds, the air is warm like a soft breath. Yellow fields sway, a ripple of colour and a murmur of forgotten days. Red poppies speak of lost love and blue “Forget-me-nots” hint of lost love and friendship. In Summer Memories I wanted to create a simple painting expressing open space. A vast expanse of sky and field. Memories of my childhood running in the fields, hiding from a long forgotten lover and laughing under a summer sun. A remembered warmth of summers past. I have painted Summer Memories in an expressionist style using a dynamic application of paint to create movement and texture, to represent the movement of the sky and fields in a summer breeze. The painting is essentially colour fields using the red poppies as a focal point to bring the viewer into the landscape. Summer Memories is ready to hang.

Her vibrant palette and expressive compositions fill environments with visual excitement, bringing warmth and positivity to everyday life. Over the past decade, Angie has exhibited at prestigious venues, including The Ferens Gallery in Hull (2010), The Swiss Art Expo in Zurich (2021), and NYC Art Expo (2023). She has been a top-ten seller at Paris Gallery, Singulart. Her work has been featured in “Artists and Illustrators Magazine” (June 2017), “Tomorrow Magazine” (May 2023), and “Snapshot” (May 2024) and was selected by designer Stephanie Williams for the BBC in 2018. Her recent work, collected in over 25 countries, merges realism with expressionism to immerse viewers in floral landscapes that evoke themes of hope, renewal, love, and strength. Author, magazine editor, and artist Alyson Sheldrake praised Angie’s work, stating: “Bold, bright brushstrokes sweep across the canvas to create breathtaking and mesmerizing images full of joy and vitality.” Angie’s art doesn’t just depict flowers; it creates experiences that radiate optimism. Each piece serves as a radiant sanctuary, a burst of color designed to transform spaces and lift spirits, reflecting the powerful connection between beauty, color, and emotional well-being.
