I often bike and walk on Boston's Esplanade next to the Charles River. Almost every time I go by this footbridge, I notice the reflections. I used some artistic license to make the colors more pronounced than the actual view. While I typically paint in oil, I chose acrylic for this painting, as compared to oil it can be easier to 'compartmentalize' the colors, that is, there's not as much mixing of paint directly on the canvas.

I am a native New Yorker who has resided in the Boston area for almost thirty years and employed as a chemical engineer. I’ve always had an interest in art, but came to painting over the past ten years, and with more focus over the past three years. I paint mainly in oil, but in acrylic and watercolor too. Inspiration comes from many things and places, in particular walking and biking in Boston, travels, observing people, and nature. Artists that have inspired me include the Impressionists but many contemporary painters as well. While landscape paintings are my preference, I enjoy painting cityscapes, seascapes, and still life too.
