I'm inspired by how the places around us may be continually influenced by changes around them, in particular the ever-changing reflections in a window.The colours, objects, moods all presented to us in reflections. Yet the scenes behind the window can be completely unaffected by what is shown on the other side of the glass. The places that are not affected by time and tide are inspirational and I'm interested in painting the elusive space in "my corner of the sky" a line from the soundtrack to "Pippin". I'm intrigued with the space between us and the things we desire; the glittering prisms of chandeliers diverting our attention to something otherworldly and just beyond our grasp and the objects reflected yet out of reach and fleeting with the time, circumstance and light of day.
