Dina Aséeva defines her practice through the phrase “Not an artist — a mark maker.”

Living between sea and earth, she works primarily in motion: at sea, on boats, along isolated coasts and islands. Her watercolours and drawings are created in wind, salt, shifting weather and constant transition — conditions that shape the work as much as the materials themselves.

Rather than representing landscapes, Aséeva focuses on presence. Each mark becomes a trace of an encounter: a brief point where soul, place and paper meet. Her vocabulary is intentionally minimal — horizons, repetitions, subtle gradients, muted colour fields — allowing the viewer to experience not the place itself but the state it evokes.
