ABOUT THE ARTWORK
A favorite memory of a favorite place. We traveled back to our previous neighborhood to meet our son’s new fiancé’s family and stayed at one of our very favorite places, Surf and Sand Hotel in Laguna Beach, CA. Though early in the year, the sun gods were kind and blessed us with warm, clear weather. A very bright and glowing start to a wonderful union.

I'm inspired by the purity and intensity of nature's colors--in striving to match her glory, never getting there, but so very delighted with my attempts. I will never stop trying to get that perfect pink of a glowing sunset or that elusive golden yellow on the tips of the California poppy. I often start my landscapes plein air and comlete them in studio. This allows me to capture the sense of the environment: the serenity of a calm stream at sunset, the electric motion of a roiling thunderstorm, or even the surprise of a rock turning into a turtle as it plops into a pond.
