Painting: Acrylic on Canvas.
This work continues with the theme of painting 'what is right outside my window' such as the view of the gorge and dramatic changes in the weather. Being a very wet summer, I have had a chance to paint the sweeping rain and mist, along with a flock of swallows, flitting, diving and swooping down to catch the midges, which have had a population boom due to the wet summer and warm temperatures. They are amazing birds to watch with their aerial acrobatics set against a backdrop of light that is further softened by sheets of misty rain layered over the dark greens of the native forest.
