After years dedicated to performing music and teaching at the conservatory, a moment of profound realization struck me during a beach outing with my wife. Engulfed by the symphony of the sea – the rhythmic waves, the whispering wind, and the resonant cries of gulls soaring overhead – I sensed an undeniable need to broaden my artistic horizons. In that serene coastal setting, a newfound inspiration took flight within me: I wanted to capture the essence of those gulls in a painting, to embody their freedom, to be swept away, much like their graceful dance with the wind. Thus, my artistic journey began with a triptych of gulls, gracefully weaving in and out of the painting. As my artistic evolution unfolded, I found myself enchanted by the rhythmic flight of geese. The harmonious cacophony of a flock piercing the sky stirred a profound sense of liberation within me. Swans, with their inherent elegance, became another muse and the mysterious wonder of a flock of starlings could arrest my entire being, immersing me in a vast expanse of stillness. In the realm of painting, I discover an immense quietude, a boundless space where time stands still. My hope is to convey this tranquility to the observer, allowing them to share in the profound serenity that painting these creatures has brought into my life.
