Rubén, born in 1975 in Spain, is a self-made painter whose journey into art began not long ago. His latest collection, Underwater, showcased in his profile, is a testament to his evolution as an artist. This series wouldn't have been possible without his earlier collection, Swimmers, which stemmed from a desire to convey a profound sentiment of wanting to halt and pivot in a different direction. Initially, Rubén found solace in triathlons, particularly Ironman competitions, which inspired his depiction of swimmers moving against the tide—a reflection of his own pursuit of a happier path.
