About The Artwork
Sylt 2019. At the German Polomasters Sylt 2019, I tried to capture the unique light and friendly summery atmosphere of the island in this painting. I have always been fascinated by the elegance and vigour horses exert. It is my aim to express their energy, dynamics and vitality with my paintings. One of my essential themes is the focus on a destination and its reachability. My choice of vibrant and bright colours is to emphasize a joyful “YES” to life. I love to connect the precision of classical art with the freedom of modern art. Each of my paintings is a homage to the unique dynamic and elegance of horses. I am painting exclusively with acrylic. The high luminous intensity and flexible way of processing appeal to me very much. Backgrounds are very often smoothed with thickened paint. Depending on a picture’s style I frequently change the texture of individual colours. The quick drying time of acrylic suits me a lot, because I put up to 12 layers of paint on top of each other to get the high intensity of my colours.
