Contact us.I am Oleg Khamoukov, a contemporary painter working under the artistic name KARAXONY.
My art is about people, animals, nature, memories, and the simple moments that make life beautiful. I am especially interested in emotions and human connections — love, friendship, tenderness, companionship, and the quiet joy we often find in everyday life.
I work primarily in acrylic on canvas, and sometimes in oil. Over the years, my artistic language has continued to evolve. Today, I am drawn to a more expressive and personal approach, combining elements of naive and primitive art, folk traditions, figurative painting, and modernism. I simplify forms, exaggerate shapes, and use color not simply to reproduce reality, but to express a feeling.
Women are an important and recurring subject in my work. I see the female figure as a symbol of beauty, strength, mystery, tenderness, and life itself. Animals also have a special place in my paintings. I often portray them as companions and friends, giving them personalities and emotions that reflect our own relationships with the world around us.
My homeland and the cultural landscape of the Caucasus remain an important source of inspiration. I carry with me memories of its landscapes, people, traditions, colors, and atmosphere. Through painting, I try to share this sense of warmth and beauty with viewers, wherever they may live.
I do not try to make my paintings perfectly realistic. Instead, I want them to feel sincere. I want a painting to create an emotional connection with the viewer — perhaps a smile, a memory, a feeling of warmth, or simply a moment of quiet happiness.
Every painting begins with an emotion or an image that stays in my mind. I then allow the colors, shapes, and characters to develop their own life on the canvas.
For me, painting is a way of communicating without words. It is my way of celebrating life, love, friendship, nature, and the beauty of being human.
I paint what touches my heart, and I hope that something in my paintings touches yours.
