Art Description

Painting: Oil, Acrylic, Metal, Stone, Marble on Canvas.

This artwork is inspired by the song "Toad of the night".
It's a song that talks about loneliness but also of illusions.
The song belongs to the Argentine folklore and it is called "Sapo de la noche", letra: Jorge Hugo Chagra, música: Nicolás Toledo.
I have painted a frog and not a toad... does not matter.
The text says more or less...

"Toad of the night, toad songbook,
That you live dreaming next to your lagoon.
Tenor of puddles, grotesque "Trovero",
You are bewitched of love for the moon.
I know of your life without any glory,
I know about the tragedies of your restless soul.
And that your madness of love to the moon
It is eternal madness of every poet
Songbook toad:
Sing your song,
That life is sad,
If we do not live with an illusion".
(Jorge hugo chagra, Nicolás Toledo)

This work is dated and signed in the front and back.
