At the core of my practice are large-scale abstract paintings that convey a raw, visceral aesthetic. They oscillate between beauty and abrasion, which prevents them from becoming purely decorative. Powerful gestures meet vulnerable, unresolved passages that remain visible as traces of the painting process. Seductive softness contrasts with harsh marks, scratches, and drips. Fragments of drawing—objects or text—emerge briefly, yet never fully resolve into representation. Empty areas are active spaces, allowing the composition to breathe while preserving a sense of risk.
Contradictory impulses coexist, embracing an imperfection and rawness that define the authentic presence and strong physicality of my work.
My materials include raw canvas or linen—sometimes stitched together—as well as paper. Acrylic paint forms the foundation, which I expand with a wide range of other media, including ink, spray paint, charcoal, soft and oil pastels, and colored pencils.
My approach is process-driven, fueled by curiosity and a willingness to experiment. These qualities continually lead me to explore new fabrics, elements, and materials, often resulting in distinct bodies of work that, despite their diversity, retain a consistent and recognizable visual language.
Overall, my work can be situated within the tradition of Abstract Expressionism and Gestural Abstraction. Its tension arises from the contrast between a minimalist underlying structure and an execution that is simultaneously rich and expansive.
