The mytholgy and reality of life and death. I am inspired by color and honest, simple movement when creating this series of work. I find that in doing so, the work invites the viewer to look for themselves, what it is they see, and the more time spent the more is seen. Really take the time. If we did that with each other, we may actually see each other honestly.

ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Wheat Vs. Tares 2016 Acrylic Mixed Media on Canvas 36" x 60" x 2" Kim Barry "Wheat Vs. Tares" also titled "Wheat Amongst The Tares" depicts a scene from biblical prophecy, where amidst a scene amidst this figure alludes to a field of tangled tares, this woman holding her infant tightly, becomes the metaphor for a single stalk of wheat, purity and innocence standing amidst chaos symbolized by the serpent and vulture. The painting is suffused with rich, bold, fluid hues, illuminating the auras of each entity.Through a unique pouring method, Barry captures the tension between good and evil, emphasizing the enduring resilience of goodness in the face of adversity.
